ARTIST NOTES: This is an expressive portrait of a cat using an impasto style. The cat's wide green eyes are curious and the perspective of the head creates a sense of wonder and liveliness. This fur is painted with thick, visible broshstrokes in a mosaic-like pattern, using a rich palette of blues, whites, ochres and warm reds. The overall mood is joyful, curious and slightly whimsical, as if the cat has just seen something delightful off-frame. I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I did making it. I am a cat lover myself, and I have just discovered how delightful is to paint these loving and funny creatures.
